I like this list, and it introduced me to new games that I think I want to play, and refreshed me on others. I am a big fan of Diablo II and Metroid Prime as well.(<---dunno why I added this)

Dig the list, Stephen. Final Fantasy II (IV) introduced me to JRPG's, a genre that dominated my gamer heart for many years. Mega Man 2 is just great, though it was 3 that I played first and that (eventually, after I figured it out and it stopped kicking my ass so hard) sucked me into the series for good. GREAT music, too...of course.

No. Snake is the definition of Metal Gear Solid, it will never be the same if Kojima boots him. I don't want to play as that goddamn samurai/cyborg Raiden in MGS5, I want to continue sneaking up on enemies with a box, and then shooting them in the face when they pick up my box. The MGS franchise has made the best espionage games, I think it should stay that way.
